I was going to post this on HP forums but i tested it on two more laptops (Lenovo Yoga 530, and HP elitebook), and the USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller works this way on both of them. I have to mention that the standard USB 3.0 Type-A port on my HP specre x360 (2017) works just fine and it is shown in device manager all the time. on 1809 doesent even wake the devices until i "scan for hardware changes" Changed the power settings in control panel not to suspend USB Disabled the "allow the computer t turn off this device to save power" in device manager Step 3: On the left panel, click the Scan button. Step 2: Launch the driver updater utility on your PC.

I thought USB3 drivers were already in W7 so why do I need this driver from Intel I've read this but, it never gets into whether it is an essential program or what functionality might be lost if I uninstall it.
